DEHRADUN: The Rajaji National Park (RNP) is facing an invasion that threatens the very existence of its vast population of herbivores that live there. The park is besieged by shrubs with broad leaves known as Lantana that can be seen growing everywhere. These verdant weeds are inedible for animals. What's more, they have a tendency to spread fast and restrict growth of other plants. The runaway growth of Lantana has led to a reduction of edible vegetation for the animals at Rajaji.
